Inspired by Sun Wukong’s legendary weapon from the Chinese classic Journey to the West. The Golden Cudgel, as described in the tale, is a black iron rod with golden bands at both ends, engraved with the words: Ruyi Jin Gu Bang (“Will-Following Golden Cudgel”).
